Privacy Policy
Last updated: 9th July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how YourSound ("YourSound", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the YourSound mobile app (the "App"). YourSound is a curated live music discovery app for London venues, operated by YourSound Ltd, based in the United Kingdom.

Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to everyone who uses the App. We are the "data controller" for the personal information described here, which means we are responsible for deciding how it is used.
What information we collect
We only collect what we need to run the App and personalise your experience. Specifically:
Account information: your email address and first name, provided when you sign up.
Your preferences: the music genres and venue types you select during onboarding, and any changes you make later.
Your activity in the App: events you save or react to (your "Lineup"), and the genres and venues you engage with, which we use to tailor recommendations.
Approximate location: if you grant location permission, we use your approximate location to show venues and events near you. You can use the App without granting location access, and you can turn this off at any time in your device settings.
We do not collect payment information (the App is free and we do not process payments), and we do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking tools.
How we collect it
We collect this information directly from you: when you create an account, complete onboarding, set preferences, and use the App's features.
How we use your information, and our legal basis
Under UK data protection law, we must have a lawful basis for using your personal information. We use your information to:
Provide the App and your account (lawful basis: performance of a contract with you).
Personalise your recommendations based on your preferences and activity (lawful basis: your consent, and our legitimate interest in providing a useful, tailored service).
Show you nearby venues and events using your approximate location (lawful basis: your consent, which you give by granting location permission).
Communicate with you about your account or important service updates (lawful basis: performance of a contract, and legitimate interest).
You can withdraw consent at any time, for example by turning off location permission or by deleting your account.
Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information, and we never share it for advertising. We share it only with the service providers we rely on to run the App:
Supabase, which provides our database, authentication, and hosting. Your account and preference data is stored securely on Supabase's infrastructure. Supabase acts as our data processor.
Apple, which distributes the App and manages sign-in and app delivery.
Apple's iTunes service, which we query to fetch short music previews for artists. When we do this, an artist's name may be sent to Apple's iTunes API. We do not send Apple your personal information for this purpose.
These providers may process data on servers located outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent protections) to keep your information protected to UK standards.
How long we keep your information
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we permanently delete your personal data from our systems, including your account, preferences, and saved events. This deletion is genuine and permanent, not a deactivation.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
Access the personal information we hold about you.
Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
Delete your account and personal data. You can do this directly in the App, under Profile then Delete Account, or by contacting us.
Object to or restrict how we use your information.
Withdraw consent where we rely on it.
Data portability, meaning you can ask for a copy of your data in a usable format.
To exercise any of these rights, use the in-app options or contact us at samdoddnoble7@gmailcom. You also have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk.
How we protect your information
We take reasonable measures to keep your information secure, including secure authentication, row-level security controls on our database, and secure storage of authentication tokens on your device. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and to limit access to it.
Children
The App is intended for users aged [INSERT AGE, e.g. 18] and over. It surfaces licensed venues such as bars, clubs, pubs, and breweries. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under this age. If you believe someone under this age has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you in the App.
